Remarks
This anonymous oboe might have been made by Henri Brod, Paris, since it has many resemblances with other instruments from this maker: typical top finial, key and bell design, and see-saw key for the C-Eb junction. The absence of an octave key, a half-hole plateau, a low Bb and metal mounts, all elements to find on Brod oboes, points into the direction of an earlier instrument, perhaps 1820–1830.
