TECHNICAL DESCRIPTION
Brass keys, ferrules, thumb rest and reed cylinder.
Keyheads with round lipped flaps type Heyde-181/4, all mounted on axles and pillars.
On TJ: 2 octave keys, C# trill-key for L3, C and Bb for R1, G#;
On MJ: F# for R4, cross-F, C-C#-Eb with particular design, left Eb and low B with long levers for L4, low B-key on bell.
3rd hole doubled with finger cove.
SATK (springs attached to the key).
Bell with inner rim. No vent-holes.
Metal lining: reed cylinder, joint and bell ends.

FL ?> Faults
Fair condition. Wood body slightly worn and scratched. Huge crack in bell. Some keys bent, some pads missing.

UP ?> Usable Pitch
Pitch hard to determine due to condition of the instrument. With some ‘instant repair’ a few notes could be produced pointing towards A = c.438–440Hz with reed TL 68.9mm / staple 42mm / 7.7mm.

Curiously the bell has an inner rim. The Ponfoort oboe MIM 2615, (dated 1852, so before this oboe) does not have one.
