Remarks
Haynes (2001) p.355 and p.446, presumes that type-E hautboys signed 'I. H. Rottenburgh' like this one, are made by the sons of Jean-Hyacinth Rottenburgh, possibly after the latter’s retirement. The fact that the Rottenburghs change to French-style type-E hautboys could be an indication of the orientation of the factory, and probably its customers.
Huge inner rim on bell.
