TECHNICAL DESCRIPTION
One brass key with flat round flap. the key flap is bent (rounded, to follow the instrument's round shape).
Raised key rings circular.
SATB (spring attached to the body).
All finger-holes single.
Bell with 4 vent-holes. No inner rim. No socket on bell, making a huge step in the lower bore.

Pitch could not be tested. According to Mahillon (R1978) Vol.II pp.251–2 the usable pitch would be A= c.410Hz: "...half a tone below our pitch” (c.1880 = 435Hz, SV), the Nominal Pitch being A.

According to Girard (2001) p.84, this instrument is a mezzo-soprano or small alto type.
